	High Power Loads Where power ratings of more than 50% of a set's capacity are required, or where a single load bank is installed to serve multiple generating sets, other cooling arrangements can be used. The illustration above shows a 2MW load bank installed recently at Canary Wharf in London, acting as a test and exercise load for five 1600kVA standby sets and a 2MW uninterruptible power supply. This was a challenging installation because the specification required the load to add no additional noise to that from the generating sets themselves. TPR was able to achieve this by fitting the load into the exhaust air duct from the basement engine room and cooling the resistors with the airflow from the engine room fans. No additional noise-producing fans were needed to dissipate the power of the load bank.	Above is of a more conventional fan-cooled load bank of the same power (2MW), this time installed on a central London rooftop. The challenge in this case was to fit a high-powered load bank into a very restricted space, achieved by using TPR's high-efficiency EN strip resistors and a vertical airflow design. The complete load bank, including its controls, fits into a space of just 3 sq m and weighs only 1600 kg.
