Portable Load Banks

The TPR Resistors model AC4 load bank, used for routine testing of the small single-phase portable generators is seen on building sites everywhere. Typically rated at 2-3kW, such generators provide 110V and 240V power for lights, hand tools and compressors.
Customers for these types of load bank are plant managers and hire shops that need a simple, speedy way of proving the correct operation of large numbers of small generators.
The load bank is a simple robust design using rubber shock mounts within a robust tubular steel carrying frame, but with all the necessary features for this duty. It can be loaded up to 4kW in 1/3kW steps at both 110 and 240V.
The control panel has two IEC-standard input sockets for quick connection to the test generator, five illuminated ‘on/off’ switches and full metering of the voltage, current and frequency.
An important additional feature of the AC4 for site work is that its load resistors are convection cooled, not needing any external power supply for fans or controls.
For higher powers the AC6 offers 50% more power, built-in connection cables stowed within the load bank, and at 12kg is light enough to be carried and used anywhere.
